Addict Support Groups |

I strongly encourage you to get plugged in to a face-to-face support system. Below are links and phone numbers for a variety of regional, national, and international sex addiction support groups. The most common groups are Sexaholics Anonymous [SA], Sex Addicts Anonymous [SAA], Sexual Compulsives Anonymous [SCA], and Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous [SLAA]. There are other groups which may be helpful as well, and I've tried to list them all below. Find all the meetings in your area, pick one, and commit to attending that meeting at least six times before deciding if it's the right meeting for you. If after six meetings you decide it isn't for you, try another meeting or another fellowship. Alternative MeetingsThere are some alternatives to face-to-face (f2f) support groups, but I suggest these be used either in addition to the f2f groups or if a group is completely impossible to reach.* These alternatives are:
* Note on the "completely impossible to reach" concept: Consider the amount of effort, planning, money, gasoline, and other resources you've used for your addiction. If the meeting requires less of these resources than the addiction required, don't consider the meeting to be "completely impossible to reach." |
