The Bookstore

Read below to find out why I have a bookstore.

Thank you for your support!  So far, visitors to the SARR Bookstore have purchased 20 books to help them in their recovery!  The most popular book so far: Love Is a Choice: Recovery for Codependent Relationships (workbook)

If you would like to recommend a book that has helped you, send me a short review of the book and let me know how or why it helped you.  I'll include your comments when I spotlight the book.

SPOTLIGHT For Addicts

Out of the Shadows: Understanding Sexual Addiction

The classic work on sexual addiction.  An excellent choice for those who are looking to understand sexual addiction.  Written by one of the first pioneers in sexual addiction recovery. [Steve G.]

SPOTLIGHT For Partners

Love Must Be Tough

Is there one symptom common to troubled marriages that if left untreated hastens the drift toward divorce for millions of couples? Dr. James Dobson believes there is. That most serious indicator of potential family breakup is disrespect.

Love Must Be Tough squarely addresses this often overlooked problem by carefully demonstrating that at the core of most marital conflicts such as infidelity, alcoholism, spousal abuse, emotional distance, etc., lies a vicious kind of indifference that can sabotage a relationship.

Dr. Dobson believes that the source of this creeping seperateness is usually only one partner, and he offers practical help for the other spouse who wants desperately to hold the marriage together. What emerges is a principle of loving toughness that offers the best chance of rekindling romantic interest and drawing the offending partner "back home."

SPOTLIGHT For Couples

Sex, Lies and Forgiveness: Couples Speak on Healing from Sex Addiction

Dr. Schneider has been helping couples recover from the effects of sexual addiction.  While I've not met her personally, I have corresponded with her and find her to be compassionate and knowledgeable about  sexual addiction recovery. [Steve G.]

SPOTLIGHT For Counselors

Contrary to Love

I'm recommending this one based on Dr. Carnes' long-standing expertise in the field of sexual addiction recovery.  I'd love to hear from those in the counseling profession on their recommendations. [Steve G.]

Why Does SARR Have A Bookstore?

SARR has always been free from advertising, and I'm going to keep it that way.  This allows me to be relatively unbiased in the information I provide.  Of course, it would be helpful to have the website offset some of the cost of maintaining it.  Thus, I present The Bookstore.

I have decided to affiliate with Barnes & Nobel.  This means I'll get about a quarter whenever someone buys a book from B&N through me.  Any money I receive through this affiliation program will go exclusively toward offsetting the cost of this website.

As always, email me with any comments you might have about this.
